A
Birthday Gift
What would be
a perfect gift?
A milestone
to remember,
As one walks
into another year,
Something
that would give mood a lift,
Maybe small
things in a hamper,
Anything that
would dry a tear.
Not everyone
need to remember my special day,
Someone who
has the key to my happiness,
The few persons
for whom you matter,
Only close
relative’s wishes wold fill one with sun-ray,
A few dear
friends could enhance the madness,
Kids of
course colour the platter.
Don’t want
too many treats,
Neither
looking for a hidden surprise,
Dreaming of
glorious pleasantry,
Probably wouldn’t
mind trip to a lovely retreat,
Nothing like
a super party for mental highs,
No harm in
pretty fantasies.
Crawling back
to reality,
Staring away
from notional senses,
Kicking off
the pout and fuss,
Wishing for a
day without any profanity,
Surrounded by
love and not morose faces,
All one clamour
for is a heartfelt hug and kisses.
