Leaves
Leaves paint
the tree with a green beam,
But lack any
ego or envy,
Some come as
a red and yellow team,
Ever and
always tree savvy.
Notice a
gentle motion on cue,
When the wind
walk in as a breeze,
As if the
leaves are having a dialogue,
Sometimes starting
a verbal tease.
Long leaves
of the Bamboo quiver,
Always signal
others with shivers,
Small leaves
if Gulmohar cuddle,
Forever
gossiping in a huddle.
Thick leaves
of the Plumerea dance,
Actions are
like they are ready to prance,
Thin leaves
of the Coconut waft,
Rock side to
side to all passing water-craft.
As mango
leaves twirl,
They fill the
air with a fresh smell,
Chikoo and Guavas
leaves swivel and whirl,
Together
jamming up a foody spell.
Autumn winds
bring season’s change,
With it the
leaves colour alter image,
Green turn
red and brown,
Shaded leaves
spiral to the ground.
Banana green
forever pants,
For it
reminds us of elephants,
Colocacia
spread something new,
Early morning
dance with a dew.
Then there is
the leafy thorns of the cactus,
Pointing out that
each day is not a lotus,
With love and
unabated striving,
Working like
leaves, life’s fruits are appealing.
