We the Republic

Colours of the flag in our hearts and mind,

Reflects in the dress and tastes we find,

Each day the sense of belongings are taken for granted,

But this day we reap the fruits of unity and integrity we planted.

Saffron shawl wraps us in countrymen’s warmth,

Purity in every action as a true pristine white cloth,

Joy in every Indian’s face enough to turn every enemy green,

Together we join hands like the blue cogs in a wheel.

Seventy years have passed by,

Every new generation still feeling the freedom cry,

Republic day comes every year,

Binding solemn promise to action in any Indian pure.
