Holiday
Memories Scarred
I went on a holiday,
Basking in the warm sun’s ray,
Shopping at its pinnacle height,
Soaking in the marvellous sights.
A week went by,
It was time to say goodbye,
Time flew away at an amazing speed,
Mind slowly wound up to the present need.
Couple of days into the routine,
I read the news that was very mean,
The sights of my holiday scarred,
Many of the happy shops charred.
I look at self in the mirror,
Counting my graces and lucky endeavour’s,
Thanking GOD for his blessing,
I spend another day living.
But the holiday land trampled,
Dust, death and sun’s rays mingled,
Happy hospitable people broken and mangled,
Sirens and wailing sounds augmented.
Will the land be the same again?
Will the shop jingle yet again?
When will the sands of time settle the dust?
When will new colours cover the rust?
