Trolled by Contradictions

Trolled by Contradictions

A rush of blaring ambulances on an empty street,

A prinia chirping happily on a bamboo thicket,

A gentle breeze shakes everyone alive,

Knocking on buses and cars that became archive,

Traffic snarls around a medical testing camp,

One man cleaning up hopeful of reopening the office canteen,

A 50th wedding anniversary rings and rhymes,

Friends and family gather around on face time,

A perfectly round roti,

A pantry practically empty,

Two fast friends converse on the phone,

Sad news travels through the wires on both ends,

Farmers’ have a bumper crop,

Golden grains stuck in the wholesale yard drop,

Fresh chemical free vegetables in numerous crates,

Rots as city’s wholesale market shutdown in a haste.
