Exodus Once Again
Picturesque
mountain land, beyond repair,
Sitting in
the comfort of a home with a nameplate,
One can
only contemplate at their broken fate,
Is it
enough, to feel anguish at their plight,
While all this
is happening in plain sight,
Crowds
leaving their homes and hearth,
Foreigners
and folks fleeing tyrant’s girth,
Young and
old packed in a plane like sardines,
With
revival of retribution by barbaric means,
Men falling
from the sky like flies,
Masses fleeing
the land like mice,
Women
crying out for help,
“They’ll
kill us”, is their yelp,
What do you
fear, asks someone?
Only our
dear life is the answer in unison,
Embassies
close down,
Ransacked
offices emit eerie sounds,
Diplomats
on board a military rescue plane,
With heads
buried in their hands in agony, in vain,
All
projects suddenly stopped,
Every
improvement task immediately dropped,
The land of
saffron and pomegranates,
Now grows
plants that keeps everyone in a daze,
Thousands
now have home in a refugee maze,
On unwanted
land, among unknown people, everyday uncertainty awaits,
Who is to
be blamed, called up by their name?
Who is
responsible for guns that swapped with game?
Who would
bring back the lost childhood?
Bring back
the schools, colleges and book?
Does it
matter now that chaos surrounds!
With the
innocent, poor and invalids left around!
