Rain

Rain

 

Grey clouds cover the sun

Water reaching earth in great fun

Air fresh and clean to breathe

Everyone refreshed and in high spirits

Leaves washed and crisp

Dripping water from ends and tips

Soil wet and moist

Seeds ready to hoist

Crows wet and shivering

Sits on cars in shed drip drying

Cat urgently licking itself waterproof

Basking on the rain washed roof

Rats scuttling above ground

Gnawing the wooden doors round

Monkeys climb high dense trees

Cuddle together to keep away the freeze

Water worms and insects revive

Though only for a few days they thrive

Potholes turn into watery moats

Awaiting some paper boats

Muddy water collect in lower bends

Leaving silt and slush as rain ends.
