A Birthday Unplanned
I
count the days to the wishes,
Make
plans for special dishes,
But
life decides to play sour,
Gives
me an event to ponder.
Months
ago I plan a trip,
To
sit near the tranquil water tip,
Waiting
to soak in the quite nature,
All
of a sudden I am running helter-skelter.
School
office leave taken,
To
slow down the pace and tension,
Only
to rush to the nearest healthcare,
A
night spent in utter despair.
Shell
necklace and corals,
Gave
way to injections and bottles,
Awaiting
for a serene lunch by the Oceanside,
Only
to be visited by doctors of every kind.
As
day crawled on slowly,
Mind
blocked the travel plans painfully,
Evening
brought in good news,
All
is well was the doctors views.
Home
at last – all safe and sound,
Now
I think – what a roller coaster round,
But
surprises was still in the air,
Friends
brought in cheers to the lair.
Celebrations
at last,
Thanking
God for a short blast,
Birthday
and anniversary was fused together,
Now
I solder a health wish forever…
