Easter
I read your praises,
I understand you sacrifices,
I bow to your choices,
I ruefully say a silent prayer.
You took upon yourself, the sins of us mortals,
You kept us away from earthly perils,
You guided us to a path of heavenly portal,
I repentfully say a silent prayer.
Every year we penance for our impasse,
Each year we repent our misses,
To better the tomorrow and today,
I pensively say a silent prayer.
Days of fasting to commemorate crucifixion,
Vigil and worship service with convection,
The celebration on your resurrection,
I sincerely say a silent prayer.
Let happiness and colours dispel gloom,
Surrounded by fragrance and flowers in every room,
And when the feast is laid in full bloom,
I thankfully say a silent prayer.
